Random News: September 7, 2025

DISCLAIMER: Zak's Random News is very random and doesn't cover many things, and not everything may be accurate, because I'm just some guy. Go find a real news source.

Good morning. It’s September 7, 2025, and it’s a Sunday. I’ve reached the age that doing things like, say, staying up a couple hours later than usual, or eating rich food late at night, leaves me feeling hungover when I get up the next morning despite not having consumed alcohol in years. Such is life.

  • Adding insult to injury, I also awoke to the first major ant attack of the year, so ask me how the very start of my Sunday morning is going thus far.
  • Ugh. Let’s do some news. It’s pleasant in comparison.
  • Yesterday, tens of thousands of protesters marched in Washington, D.C. to demand that Dump end the deployment of National Guard troops patrolling the capital city's streets.
  • Protesters at the "We Are All D.C." march chanted slogans denouncing Dump and carried posters reading things like "Trump must go now," "Free DC,” and "Resist Tyranny."
  • As we’ve mentioned, Dump’s justification for this military occupation — as it’s been in other U.S. cities — is to assist in fighting crime in D.C.
  • But Justice Department data showed violent crime in 2024 hit a 30-year low in Washington, which is a self-governing federal district under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Congress.
  • It was a similar scene last night in Chicago, where protestors took to Michigan Avenue to rally against Dump’s plans to send federal troops to the area for expanded immigration enforcement.
  • The “No Trump, No Troops” protest began at 5pm downtown near Grant Park. Demonstrators then marched, stopping briefly at the ICE office, the Dirksen Federal Building, and Trump Tower.
  • I’d like to think of my readers as smart people.
  • So I don’t have to tell you this, but I will for some of the folks who don’t see the big picture.
  • Dump sending in troops to cities has nothing to do with crime fighting or immigration control.
  • It’s only about one thing: intimidation of our populace, and preparedness for actual military action against our own citizens and other residents.
  • This is what dictators do. This what we wanted you about throughout the 2024 election. Dump is a fascist dictator. He’s doing literally all the things that other dictators — from Hitler to Stalin to Pol Pot to Amin and the rest — have done. Dump is merely following an old playbook.
  • We never imagined it could happen here… but here we are.
  • The only question now is, what are you going to do about it?
  • Let’s move on.
  • The list of people calling for the firing of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from his role as Health and Human Services Secretary is growing rapidly.
  • Jerome Adams, who served as US surgeon general during Dump’s first administration, has added his name.
  • Yesterday, when asked if RFK Jr. should be fired by Dumpy, Adams said, “I absolutely believe that he should for the sake of the nation and the sake of his legacy.”
  • Who else? Oh, how about all of RFK Jr.’s own family?
  • Former Rep. Joe Kennedy III released a statement calling his uncle “a threat to the health and wellbeing of every American.” He accused the secretary of choosing “to dismiss science” and “sow confusion” during his congressional testimony.
  • Kerry Kennedy, one of RFK Jr.’s 10 siblings, called for him to resign.
  • Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former president John F. Kennedy, lambasted his cousin, posting, “RFK LOSER IS A THREAT TO PUBLIC HEALTH and AMERICAN SCIENTIFIC LEADERSHIP WHO PLEASURES HIMSELF by lying to Congress.”
  • Seems about right.
  • Even Dumpy — never willing to openly acknowledge his many massive mistakes — seems to be caving a bit on RFK Jr.
  • On Friday, The Dumpster chose his words carefully.
  • “You have some vaccines that are so incredible, and I think that you have to be very careful when you say that some people don’t have to be vaccinated,” said the Orange Ogre.
  • Uh huh.
  • Moving on.
  • Eric Adams, the current New York mayor, is insisting that he’s staying in the race despite intense pressure by Dumpy and others to consolidate opposition to Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani.
  • He said, “I want to be clear: Andrew Cuomo is a snake and a liar. I am in this race. And I’m the only one who can beat Mamdani.”
  • Dump is scared to death of Mamdani, to the point where he’s supporting other Democrats such as Cuomo. To try and consolidate the race, Dump tried to bribe Adams to drop out, offering him an administration position (like a post in Housing and Urban Development( and even an ambassadorship to Saudi Arabia as incentives for Adams to leave the race and clear the path for Cuomo to face Mamdani.
  • And indeed, as we reported a while back, Adams met with Dump advisers — including Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff — during a Florida trip this week.
  • I guess we’ll wait and see. The election happens in less than two months, on November 4.
  • Let’s move on.
  • A little tidbit that should tell you a thing or two about the Dump administration’s respect for the rule of law.
  • On social media yesterday, VP Jiminy Dicklet Vance made a post in regard to the USA’s attack on an alleged drug boat leaving Venezuela. He wrote, “Killing cartel members who poison our fellow citizens is the highest and best use of our military.”
  • Political writer/podcaster Brian Krassenstein responded, saying, “Killing the citizens of another nation who are civilians without any due process is called a war crime.”
  • And then Vance replied, “I don't give a shit what you call it.”
  • And that’s basically the outlook of Team Dump. They’re going to do what they want for their own benefit, and if it’s against the law or contrary to the U.S. Constitution that gives us our rights, they do not give a shit.
  • They just tell you. And yet some people still defend them and their actions. Pathetic.
  • One person not defending this piece of shit is Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who chairs the Senate committee on homeland security and government affairs.
  • Paul slammed Vance’s comments, writing, “JD ‘I don’t give a shit’ Vance says killing people he accuses of a crime is the ‘highest and best use of the military.’ Did he ever read To Kill a Mockingbird? Did he ever wonder what might happen if the accused were immediately executed without trial or representation? What a despicable and thoughtless sentiment it is to glorify killing someone without a trial.”
  • And in a rare moment, I agree entirely with Rand Paul. It is fucking despicable and unAmerican and vile.
  • Moving on.
  • From the Immigration Desk… a follow-up on our recent report on the raid at the Hyundai plant in Georgia.
  • The hundreds of South Korean workers who were detained during Thursday’s raid will be returned to South Korea on a chartered flight following negotiations.
  • I guess that’s better than being put in one of Dump’s concentration camps.
  • South Korea’s spokesperson stated, “Negotiations for the release of the detained workers have been concluded, after swift responses by the relevant ministries, business agencies, and companies. However, some administrative procedures remain, and once they’re completed, a chartered plane will depart to bring back our citizens.”
  • Negotiations, huh? Sounds like another big payday for Dumples the Self-Serving Terrorist Clown.
  • South Korean President Lee Jae Myung previously called for “all-out necessary measures” to support the detainees, as he should.
  • Those workers were among 475 detained at the Hyundai Metaplant in Ellabell, GA, which houses an electric vehicle battery plant jointly operated by South Korea-based companies Hyundai and LG Energy Solution.
  • About 300 of those detained are South Korean.
  • In other Immigration Desk news…
  • Dumpy has ICE in Massachusetts. Once again — as they’ve lied about in Los Angeles and other cities — they say they will target what it called “the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens” in the state.
  • Bullshit. They’ll kidnap landscapers and builders and factory workers. People with families and no criminal records. That’s what they do.
  • They grab people ion their way to work, or while they’re going to immigration hearings to keep their residency status legal.
  • The Department of Homeland Security provided few details on the scale of the latest operation, called Patriot 2.0.
  • On Thursday, the administration sued Boston and its leaders for allegedly refusing to cooperate with immigration authorities, adding to a string of similar lawsuits against so-called “sanctuary cities.”
  • And Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has defended the city’s laws, describing the lawsuit as an “unconstitutional attack on our city.”
  • And now, The Weather: “Blue Reminder” by Hand Habits
  • From the Sports Desk… congrats to Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka. There’s a reason she’s the top-seeded Women’s tennis player in the world.
  • She outplayed American Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6 (3) in yesterday’s US Open final. Sabalenka is the first woman to win the tournament in consecutive years since Serena Williams more than a decade ago. It’s the fourth Grand Slam title of her career, and she became just the fifth player in the Open era (male or female) to win each of their first four major titles on the same surface.
  • And in other Sports Desk news that should be all too apparent… it’s the first Sunday of the 2025 NFL season.
  • One thing that always happens when my football friends come to the West Coast: they are astounded what it’s like to wake up on a Sunday and have games start not long after breakfast time. Our early games kick off at 10am local time.
  • I’ve always liked it. Same on the other end, when the later games end at a reasonable hour, and we’re not up until midnight to see who won.
  • Anyway, here’s something you can count on: this first week of the season, I want to get an idea of where teams are at, so I’ll be checking out all the games in some form or another.
